With my creative background, it always gives me great pleasure to snap your cats and send you occasional messages to let you know that they’re happy and content.

Laura

I’ve lived in and around the Wokingham and East Reading areas for over 20 years. During that time I’ve always had rescue cats live with me, and my current cat Fizz keeps us in check.

Whenever I’ve been away from home, it’s been important to me to be able to have my cats looked after in their own home. I think it’s important to the cats too, not least because they’ve come from rescue centres, I don’t want them to think that if I’ve dropped them off at a cattery that I’ve left them forever.

Mostly I find that the cats I look after are waiting for me to come and feed them and fuss over them. They’ve probably spent the best part of the day sleeping and they’re eager to fill their tummies, be stroked and played with, and then get back to the next snooze.

Amanda

I have lived in East Reading (Earley and Woodley) for the past 20 years.

I have always had cats at home and strongly believe a house is not a home without a pet!

I currently have two cats whom I have adopted, one up until a year a go was predominately a house cat, but now has started to brave the outside to sit in the sunshine! I have also had hamsters, fish and rabbits, as well as having close family members with dogs, so am very used to being around all kinds.

While you’re away, having someone come to your house once or twice a day will give you a great sense of security. Opening and closing curtains, turning on lights in the winter as we come and go, clearing post and bringing in any unexpected parcels will give you peace of mind.

We can also feed the fish, water your plants, both inside and outside in the summer, run any errands that may crop up, and supply you with a welcome home parcel to get you through before you go shopping when you get home.

Of course, it’s not just holidays when you need your animals looking after. If you have a new kitten, or puppy and you need someone to check in on them during the day while you’re out, we can pop by to ensure that all is ok, and feed them and spend some time with them to break the day up a bit before you return home.
